Taser's Citizen 5RD021 (04/26)

General

This is the first, and possibly the last Citizen flip clock, I've restored (time will tell). I've done it for my long-time friend — Taser — who is also a tech magician and Far East culture enthusiast.

The "thing" about those clocks is, they have divided the flips between tens and ones. So, differently than the Seiko and Copal models, they have three flip wheels. All this makes the clock a more complex mechanism. More complex usually doesn't mean better. ;-D But... I did it, and it works, and it's beautiful. The biggest downside of this type of mechanism is how long it takes to go through the minutes, tens of minutes and hours, when you want to set the time.

Restoring process was taking a lot of time. It took me quite a time to tear it off, clean all the bits and put it back together properly. It felt slightly like a puzzle, but I was making photos along the way. I belive I placede one spring in wrong place. But it works. :P It's fine. ;-).

Taser. I hope, you will be having a blast with it, and that it'll work for your for the next half of the century. Let's flip!
